The hardest part of being in a relationship with anyone is when we have to say good-bye.
We had to say good-bye to a significant individual last week, Marie Francoise, who lived in the Morne Oge community for years. She was the first to greet and cook for the team in 2005.
Some special memories that our Restore Haiti family have of Marie are when one of our staff members was very sick in the hospital in Haiti, she called, texted and prayed for her. Another staff member still has a beaded necklace and bracelet that Marie had made for her. Some words that described Marie include, "She was one of the sweetest ladies ever!" and "What a sense of joy she had."
She was known as a counselor and mother to many others besides her four children. She was one of the host members of the local church, Restoration Ministries. Her captivating smile will remain etched in our memory forever.
