Day 4: First REAL Workday!

Day 4: First REAL work day
Bonswa everybody :)
Yes, today the real work began. Jason, Laura, Ashley V, Sarah, Mallory, and I painted a house today and sanded some walls. We are glad to announce that one house has been completely finished in hot pink. We also found a tarantula in the bathroom today, which was…. Interesting to say the least. Tarantulas are hard to catch. Ms.Petit, Jackie, and Ire worked with a few amazing women to make food for a few hundred children. They ground beans and other things by hand and cooked in a small enclosed tin shack, and smiled the entire time :) this team is awesome about no complaining, and smiling constantly. As for Philip and the rest of the team ( Noah, Chase, Colleen, Grady, Matt , Drew, Christy, and Tim) get props for the work they did today. They moved cinder blocks and stones up and down a hill in at least 103 degree weather. When they came back for lunch, they were drenched in sweat, and as always, still smiling. After we had a great lunch, we fed the kids with the feeding program, and rested a little bit, topping everything off with games and push up contests with the kids after dinner. The simple things here are so meaningful, and the work doesn't even bother me, or anyone else, we know who and what we are working for :)
