About Restore Haiti
Restore Haiti is an organization that not only will lead you on a trip to Haiti, but visit you right where you are! Take a second and watch the story of Restore Haiti and see if there are ways you can get involved by giving to the mission. We would also love to take an opportunity to come speak to your group or set up a sponsorship table at your event.
When Philip Peters, born and raised in Indiana, left the country for the first time at the age of 17, he didn’t realize that years later the 501c3 Hope Restored/ Restore Haiti would be the result. That missions trip is where he first encountered a Haitian man named Jean Gerald Lafleur. The two kept in touch for 7 years before finally reuniting in Haiti in 2005. After that reunion, Philip and a group of his friends, all young adults at the time, began taking yearly trips to Haiti, doing what they could to help the community, and Restore Haiti was born.
In 2010, just 4 days prior to the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti, Tobymac hosted a benefit concert that helped fund the official incorporation of the organization. Since then, people from all over the world have joined together to bring aid to this community and sponsor the children who live there by building homes and providing funding to support the areas of education, nutrition, and basic medical care.
Currently, Philip lives in Franklin, TN and is employed as a management associate at True Artist Management, where he serves the musical artists Tobymac, Mandisa, Capital Kings. In addition to his love for the music industry, Philip also has a heart for ministry, recently spending four years serving as the youth pastor for his local church, New River Fellowship, which was founded by a Christian musician and his wife, Michael W. and Debbie Smith. He also frequently leads worship at his home church as well as at special events and when visiting other church groups.
In recent years, Philip has been blessed to be able to share his story in front of many churches and groups from coast to coast. His goal is to spread a message of purpose, dreams, and how God could use a young man to impact the nations, with reliance on his life verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:24, as the key to seeing God do mighty things through a willing life.
